- After nearly a decade of growth and high performance, the Casablanca Stock Exchange has gone through a difficult period of recession since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. Generally, the shock waves of Covid-19 are comparable to those of the subprime mortgage crisis. However, the impact of the current epidemic on the Moroccan stock market is still far from being a subject of in-depth research. It is in this context that we will try in this article to measure the depth, as well as the extent of the damage caused by the current economic crisis on the stock market activity of the various listed sectors. To do this, we will proceed with a multisectoral analysis of the impact of Covid-19 on the results and performance of the various listed stocks, between January and September 2020. The aim is to present the main variations in terms of capitalization and transactions volume, in particular the variations in performance of all sectors in the first the half-year, through a temporal analysis on the basis of the circumstances of the evolution of the health situation in our country.
