  • STAD cooperative learning model is an innovative learning model to improve student learning outcomes in Civics learning. The STAD Cooperative learning model is able to stimulate students to actively cooperate in their groups, as well as present, and provide responses to other groups. This study aims to determine how high an increase in student achievement will occur after the STAD Cooperative learning model is applied in Civics learning. The research subjects were students of class VII A SMP N 2 Semarapura in the first semester of the 2012/2013 academic year as many as 30 people. The data obtained were then processed descriptively. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the STAD type cooperative learning model could reduce the number of students at SMPN 2 Semarapura who did not complete, where from the initial data there were 25 students who scored below 81 (KKM), in cycle I decreased to 24 students and in cycle II only 2 students got a score of 75 and 2 students got a score of 80 (under the KKM). The STAD type cooperative learning model is also able to improve the Civics learning outcomes of students at SMPN 2 Semarapura where from an initial average of 71 increases to 76 in cycle I and in cycle II it increases to 88
