- The article is devoted to the analysis of the evolution and diversity of approaches to the definition of the concept and essence of the digital economy. The digital economy is characterized by most researchers and experts as a new stage in the development of the economy and society based on the active development and dissemination of digital technology and the use of digital information. Identified and distinctive features between the approaches of various foreign and domestic scientists and experts. It is proposed to develop unified approaches to the definition of the concept and essence of the digital economy in order to mitigate possible negative consequences from terminological diversity. Статья посвящена анализу эволюции и многообразия подходов к определению понятия и сущности цифровой экономики. Цифровая экономика характеризуется большинством исследователей и экспертов как новый этап развития экономики и общества на основе активного развития и распространения цифровых технологий и использования цифровой информации. Выявлены схожие и отличительные особенности между подходами различных зарубежных и отечественных ученых и экспертов. Предложено выработать единые подходы к определению понятия и сущности цифровой экономики в целях нивелирования возможных негативных последствий от терминологического многообразия.
