- This essay presents a case study (the global coronavirus epidemic) in order to analyzing ongoing changes at the workplace motivated by accelerated modernization in a partially globalized world. It portrays a qualitative analysis informed by a bibliographic revision of the aforementioned topics (coronavirus, the workplace, globalization as modernization). Private and public spaces were suddenly mixed in a wholesale discomfort triggered by the global epidemic of coronavirus. The forceful resort to homeworking is a coordinated move between firms, states and the workforce. Multiple temporalities, roles of technology, limited communication under durable social stress and local enrooting are key variables of this gamechanging conjecture which emphasizes micro level dynamics of leading work across daily life in the same place. The extension of any limbo gets unfeasible as we leave short runs. International intercourse will not afford a limbo for long, neither will nation states, or globalization, or any of us. Then we meet entangled dilemmas.
