Type data According to the original description, Cockerell proposed this subspecies based on two females collected by J. Ogilvie at Onverwagt, Guyana, on January 10, 1936. The type specimen (NHMUK, examined) has the following data label: [white circular label with red margin] Type [printed]\ Centris lanipes ogilviei Ckll Type [handwritten]\ Onverwagt B. Guiana Jan 10’36 (J. Ogilvie) [handwritten]\ B. M. Type HYM 17B.920 [handwritten]. The type is in good condition and is coded NHMUK 010812613 in the NHMUK data portal. Type locality Guyana: Onverwagt.
