- Zethus waldoi Zavattari, 1912 Zethus waldoi Zavattari, 1912: Arch. Naturgesch. 78A (4): 10 (key), 19, male (in division Zethus)—“Columbia: Bogota ” (Berlin).— Bohart & Stange, 1965: 127 (key), 135 (in subgenus Zethusculus; only holotype studied). Type: Holotype: Colombia: male, Berlin (MFN). Examined by picture. Diagnosis. Distinct notaulices, scutellum with a fissure, petiole very smooth, stem of T2 long in relation with the stem of T1, and a large and nearly curved ligulate process on S5. Species known only from holotype. Redescription. Male: Coloration: Black with yellowish areas as follows: apex of clypeus; two spots above the antennal sockets; wings dark brown. Structure: Apex of clypeus with a slight concavity between two small teeth; mandible tridentate with the second tooth molariform; humerus rounded; mesoscutum with distinct notaulices; fissured scutellum; tegula with posterior margin rounded; T2 longer than T1; S5 with a large curved ligulate process. Sculpture: Clypeus with macro-punctures indistinct; scutum with macro-punctures more sparse; propodeum with transverse stripes on the posterior face; petiole nearly smooth; T1 and T2 with greater density of micro-punctation; T3 to T7 and S3 to S7 with macro-punctuated in the post-gradular region and smooth in the pre-gradular region. Chaeototaxy: Short, thick and yellowish-white; lateral region of clypeus with dense hair; metanotum and propodeum with erect, long and sparse hair; T3 to T7 with shorter but evident hair; S2 to S7 with long and thick hair, especially in the apical region. Female: Unknown. Comments. The description is limited to what was examined in the pictures of the type specimen. A more detailed description of the holotype can be found in Bohart & Stange (1965:135).
