  • Dimensions of information literacy. Christine S. Bruce‘s contribution to the study of information literacy. Článok predstavuje model Sedem tvárí informačnej gramotnosti autorky Ch. S. Bruceovej a objasňuje teoretický a metodologický rámec jeho vzniku. The article deals with the information literacy model The Seven Faces of Information Literacy developed by Ch. S. Bruce, and elucidates the theoretical and methodological framework of the research on information literacy, along with its data collection and evaluation process. The author points out the dichotomy in approaching information literacy and describes in detail Bruce‘s relational approach as well as ways in which information literacy is experienced among a group of information users. He analyses specific information literacy attributes in the context of education and its partial competences (IT-Literacy, Computer Literacy, Library Literacy, Information Skills, Learning to Learn). He also provides a picture of the phenomenon of information literacy through seven categories (i.e. conceptions) identified by Ch. S. Bruce. In addition, the author presents a number of concrete examples of Bruce‘s model implementation in educational systems around the world, and takes note of the role of libraries in this process.
