  • Recent problems in drug prescribing in older patients relates mostly to unintentional or intentional “age-blind” approach, directly or indirectly linked to ageist practices. With respect to ageing of the world population, this presentation focused mainly on selected problems of inappropriate prescribing in older patients associated directly or indirectly with aspects of ageism. It describes problematic issues at the regulatory level (e.g. substantial differences in approval rates of different potentially inappropriate medications among EU countries), as well as in the clinical practice.
