- We analyzed Cayenne Tern abundance and its seasonal variation along 2005 at Cananéia, Iguape, Ilha Comprida estuary, southern São Paulo, Brazil. Cayenne Terns occur throughout the year at the study area. A total of 48 censuses were made from January to December 2005, on a weekly basis. The number of individuals of Cayenne Tern varied among the sites, being correlated to the presence of fishing boats. The largest numbers were found in the austral summer, however in January the number decreased. During late July, August and early October the numbers decreased.
