- In this talk I will review the main results available so far concerning the chemical composition of the stellar populations in the Large and Small Magellanic Clouds. The derived chemical patterns (from field and stellar cluster stars) for the main elemental families (i.e. alpha, iron-peak, neutron-capture elements) will be discussed in light of the chemical evolution history of these two galaxies and in the perspective of the future spectroscopic surveys.
