- This dataset refers to the specific data on Determinants of maternal health care and birth outcome in Dande, Angola, extracted from the Dande Health and Demographic Surveillance System database. For analysis, age was categorized in years of age (Age-years). Pregnancy outcome (Pregnancy outcome) was categorized into 3 groups: alive, stillbirth and abortion. Literacy (Literacy) refers to those who can and can ́t read and write. Education (School_years) was categorized according to the number of completed schooling years or none. The area of residence (Urban_rural) was classified as described for the area according to the classification of the Angolan National Institute of Statistics (INEA). Participants’ distance to health facility (DistanceHF) was recorded as <2km; 2 to 5 km; 6 to 10 km; 11 to 15 km and >15 km. ANC refers to Antenatal care attendance (yes or no) and Where_ANC is related to the place of ANC, public or private. Women were asked about their reproductive histories, such as previous pregnancies (Pregnancy_before), number of times (before_howmany), respective outcomes (If_pregnant_outcome) and number of live children (Live-children). The place of delivery (Place_delivery) was categorized into two groups: health facility and others. The kind of support during the birth if outside a health facility (Help_if_outsideHF) was divided into 3 categories: midwife, other help or none. Gestational age at the first ANC (Gest_age_1st ANC) was considered by trimester of pregnancy: 1st trimester, 2nd trimester and 3rd trimester.
