Daftar Isi:
- This is a study by Zhou Ji ( 周吉, 1943-2008), a Chinese ethnomusicologist who lived most of his life in Xinjiang. He makes a detailed analysis of the music of Uyghur folk songs, with particular attention to the complexities of modal and rhythmic structure. This work consists of 195 pages of analysis, and an 88 page appendix with the music and texts of 82 songs. It was published through the mimeograph process in a very small print run in 1982 through the Xinjiang Branch of the Chinese Music Association. I have uploaded the scan in 8 sequentially numbered parts because they are large and I tried to keep the detail necessary to make the scans readable. ------------------------------------ More about Zhou Ji is available here: http://www.baike.com/wiki/%E5%91%A8%E5%90%89 here: http://www.ts.cn/special/node_43387.htm here: http://www.ts.cn/special/content/2008-05/18/content_2592441.htm _____________________________ This scan is produced from the mimeograph publication that Zhou Ji prepared. I have done OCR only on a few sections because it is very time consuming and cannot identify the musical transcription in any case. Zhou Ji gave this copy of this volume to Elizabeth Bright in in the 1980s in hopes that she might be able to find a Western publisher for it. She and I decided that at this point it is best to simply to post a scan online for anyone interested.
