- FBMC/OQAM channel estimation has been a subject of extensive research for the last decade or so. Active research in this area is fueled by both the potential and interesting challenges underlying the application of this type of FBMC in a number of communication systems ranging from wireless cellular and ad hoc to wired networks. This chapter presents an overview of this fascinating subject with clear emphasis given to recent advances in the more challenging problem of highly frequency selective channel estimation. Both training (preamble or pilot)-based and (semi-)blind techniques are considered.
