- The author reveals the legal issues of creating a «barrier-free environment» in the labour sphere for persons with disabilities. It"s noted that the transformation of the paradigm of attitudes towards persons with disabilities from the medical to the social requires legal registration. The author points out that the native legislation, which should regulate relations to ensure equal conditions in the labour market, is mostly based on the old medical model of the perception of persons with disabilities as persons who need help. The author acknowledges the adoption of the Law of Ukraine «On the creation of a barrier-free working environment for persons with disabilities». This Law should regulate the development, implementation and application of measures to maximally integrate persons with disabilities into the labour sphere.
