  • Global warming is a very serious issue faced in the last few decades. Efforts to gain a wealthier life irrestiblly destroy the environment. Underpreditacble climate, flood, drought, tyfoon and tsunami make people come to realise that they took part in those natural disasters. A pivotal question is this: “how do people manage their natural environment in order to guarantee their and next generation well-being?” Environmentalists and many people attempt to correct the problems through studying and looking after the environment. They are searching for and working on alternatives such as sustainable development, endogamous and ethnic development. This article will explore the etnic development, namely Papuan traditional forest management developed for generations. Due to this management Papua has a huge forest that has been contributing to reduce global warming. It is obvious that not only modern environmentalists but also tradional society can provide a solution for global warming
