  • ABSTRACT Hasanuddin University Public Health Faculty Environmental Health Dewi Mustika Jaya The Relationship Of Dengue Mosquitoes’ Nest-Eradication With The Presence Of Aedes aegypti Larvae In The Dhf Endemic Area Of Kassi-Kassi, The City Of Makassar ( xiii + 58 pages + 10 Tabels + 1 Picture + 13 Attachments ) Kassi-Kassi is the most common area of dengue cases over the last 3 years. By the year of 2010, there were 8 patients of DHF (Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever). In 2011 occurred in 4 cases, while 2 cases occurred in 2012. This study generally aims to discover the relationship of dengue mosquito nest eradication in the presence of Aedes aegypti larvae. The type of research utilized is an observational with cross-sectional study design. The population is all the houses in Kassi-Kassi which consist of 3908 houses, with a sample size of 100 houses. The samples were taken with the Proportional Sampling methods. Data are presented in distribution table and analyzed statistically with chi Square method. The result of this study indicates that the presence of larvae 57.0%, draining landfill 50.0%, burying the junk that can hold water 84.0%, 25.0% covering the landfill, sowing abate powder 0%, and maintaining larvae-eating fish 5.0%. This study shows that the draining landfill (p = 0.000) and covering landfill (p = 0.000) associated with the presence of Aedes aegypti, while burying the junk that can hold water (p = 0947) and maintain a larva-eating fish was not associated with the presence of Aedes aegypti. This study suggests the people in Kassi-Kassi, the district of Rappocini, to be more often seeking the eradication of the dengue mosquitoes’ nest by draining and covering the landfill.
