  • In this era, has developed improved methods of repair and retrofitting for structure with matrix or binder, known as Fibre Reinforced Polymer (FRP). Research on the behavior of reinforced concrete beams retrofitted by GFRP previously have been done in the laboratory. However, laboratory results can’t provide the complete information or data because the limited ability of the tools and testing methods. To get the accurate experimental results of the test, we need more specimens and it will be need much money. To overcome this problem, we try to modeling based on Finite Element Method (FEM). The research method that we used is a simulation laboratory using LUSAS 14.0 based of finite element method. The test results then compared with the results of laboratory testing. The test results using the program LUSAS 14.0 shows that the result is similiar with the result of laboratory. If we comparison with the normal beam that reinforced concrete beams without refrofitted by GFRP, it would show that the reinforced concrete beams retrofitted by GFRP will give increase the capacity of the receiving load beam is equal to 36%. LUSAS modeling results also show the distribution of strain that occurs in the steel reinforcement and GFRP along the span. Given the more load on the beam, will increase the strain of steel and GFRP of the end to the middle of the span and the maximum strain occurs in the loading area.
