- Indonesia is a country that has many tribes and very rich in culture, one of them is the traditional music of the Archipelago. Regional musical instruments or traditional musical instruments is a musical instruments created by indigenous people of Indonesians that generally has a function as a tool to worship gods or mystical beliefs, as an instrument of dance in a wedding or burial ceremony and others. Each region must have its own traditional musical instruments, but there are very few reference to get the information. These conditions cause a lack of knowledge about Indonesian traditional instruments are numerous. So, it is need a media which can introduce traditional musical instruments in interesting and interactive ways. Therefore, one of the selected media is to use media aplication of an introduction to multimedia-based traditional musical instrument of the Archipelago. This application was created with the aims of introduce traditional musical instruments of the Archipelago to fourth grade students at state elementary school 01 Sidabowa.. The system development used is Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) version of Luther Sutopo in Binanto (2010) which consists of 6 stages, namely concept, design, collecting material, assembly, testing, and distribution. After analyzing the existing cases, the application for the introduction of traditional musical instruments of the Archipelago was created as a tool to fourth grade students at state elementary school 01 Sidabowa in recognizing traditional musical instruments of the Archipelago. The final percentage obtained is 85% of fourth grade students at state elementary school 01 Sidabowa this traditional musical instrument of the Archipelago. This traditional musical instrument of the Archipelago recognition application was created using Adobe Flash Professional CS6 and Adobe Illustrator CS5.
