Kata kunci: area daun, pertumbuhan pakcoy, color image segmentation, hidroponik indoorABSTRACTIndoor hydroponic farming also contributes to Indonesia's economic growth. However, unsupervised agriculturalproducts resulted in crop failure. Thus, monitoring plant growth with digital image processing is carried out. Plant growthcan be calculated from the leaf area, so farmers can monitor the growth of their plants and provide appropriate treatment. The author designed a monitoring system for Pak Choy growth using the Color Image Segmentation method by comparingtwo color spaces, HSV and CIELAB. The final result of the measurement is the leaf area in cm2. In addition, monitoringis carried out in the morning, afternoon, and evening to see which time is the most effective. The test results show that the implementation of the CIELAB method for monitoring Pak Choy growth has a higheraccuracy rate than the HSV method, up to 96%. The system performs best at night, which only gets its light source fromthe white LED strip. In addition, the growth of Pak Choy as a result of monitoring does not always increase every daybecause of the changing conditions of the plant and its environment. Keywords: area of leaf, growth of pak choy, color image segmentation, indoor hydroponics
