  • The dynamics of the election supervisors are reinforced by the establishment of a permanent body of the Election Supervisory Body at the Provincial Bawaslu level, by arranging the authorities, obligations and duties, which are based on Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections. The first formulation of the problem in this study is about the political role of Bawaslu in organizing elections in South Sumatra Province in 2019, and the second, about the obstacles faced by Bawaslu in organizing elections in South Sumatra Province in 2019. Qualitative Descriptive Method. Data collected through direct interviews with several informants from South Sumatra Province Bawaslu Commissioner. Data processed using data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and inference. The results showed that the political role of Bawaslu in organizing elections in South Sumatra Province in 2019. First, the political role of Bawaslu based on Law Number 07 Year 2017 regarding general elections, so that the Bawaslu pattern strategy in the field in the implementation of the election implementation stage to realize the electoral stage was based on democratic values such as resolving disputes in an amicable and institutionalized manner, changing authorities in an orderly and peaceful manner through fair and competitive elections, guaranteeing peaceful change in a changing society, limiting the use of violence to a minimum (minimum of coercion), recognizes and assumes diversity, guarantees justice. Second, Bawaslu's constraint factors are apathetic people, unscrupulous individuals in conducting money politics, lack of public awareness in reporting violations, people refusing to be witnesses, people refusing to provide information related to violations, it is difficult to find evidence related to violations
