  • The aim of this research is to know the effect of cooperative learning with probing-prompting method on the students’ mathematic problem solving ability in the eighth grade students at MTs N 3 Lahat. This research is applying the true experimental design with posttest only control design. The samples of this research are VIII 1 as experimental group and VIII 2 as control group. To know the students’ mathematic problem solving ability the technique that used to collecting the data is test. The data analysis is using hypothesis testing from the data of the test. To analyze the hypothesis, t test is used. The result of the analysis is tcount=2,2438 > ttable=1,6729. The result showed that there is effect of the cooperative learning model with probing-prompting method on the students’ mathematic problem solving ability eighth grade students of MTs N 3 Lahat.
