- This research aimed at figuring out the causes of listening comprehension anxiety undergraduate EFL learners at Muhammadiyah University Palembang. The convenience purposeful sampling was used in this study. The participant of this research were 9 EFL learners at Muhammadiyah University Palembang. The method of this research was qualitative research by using case study approach. The data were collected by using observation and interview and the data gained from observation and interview were analyzed by using thematic analysis. Based on the result of this research, there were seven causes of listening comprehension anxiety by EFL learners at Muhammadiyah University Palembang which were found. They were lack of linguistic components, lack of focus, lack of time allocation, students’ psychology aspects, classroom environment, technical problem and type of assignments.
