- Trisodium salt of 3"-sulpho-2": 6"-dichloro-3:3' dimethyl-4-hydroxy-fuchsone-5:5' dicarbcarylic acid commonly known as Chrome Azurol S forms a 1:1 chelate with scandium (\(\gamma\)max 560 mμ), yttrium (\(\gamma\)max 490 mμ) and lanthanum (\(\gamma\)max 460 mμ). The composition and stability of these chelates have been determined by three different methods and the average values of log K for scandium, yttrium and lanthanum chelates are 5.5,4.45 and 4.6 respectively
