- Reactions of primary, secondary, and tertiary alkoxiden of aluminium with acetyl chloride have been investigated and the compounds of the following type have been prepared; Al(OR)2Cl, AlCI2(OR). 0.5CH3- COOR. AlCl3. 1.5CH3COOR (where R in methyl, propyli, \(n\)-, \(sec\)- or \(tert\)..butyl). The compounds have been erystallised wherever possible from their respective sleoholn. The reaction of aluminium- butoxide is found, to be very slow. These chloride alkoxides. are not stable towards heat and are decomposed during distillation.
