- By the action of substituted biguanides on the Cis diammine bis biguanide Cobalt(III) base a series of hetero biguanide Cobalt(III) complexes of the type. [Co(AA)(BigH)2]+3 (AA = methyl biguanide, ethly biguanide or phenyl biguanide) have been synthesised and characterised. These give expected conductance velues and equivalent weights. Absorption spectral studies reveal two ligand field bands around 28,000 cm-1 and 20000 cm -1. A comparison reveals very close ligand field strength set by the substituted biguanides compared to biguanide itself.
