- Infra-red spectral studies are reported for amidinourea,1-amidino-0-methylurea,1-amidino-0-ethylurea and bis-1-amidino-O-methylurea nickel (II) chloride. These studies completely verify the presence of a C-O group in amidinourea, and its absence in the other two reagents. Besides, the 1-amidino-O-alky-lureas show strong sharp peaks characteristic of C-OR which is absent in amidinourea. The nickel-complex also reveals the C-OR bind but does not show up the C=O band. Zeisel evidence for the methoxyl group in 1-amidino-O-methylurea sulphate is also presented.
