Thermodynamics of I, I 0-Phenanthrolium Ion and its lron(II) Complexes in Methanol-Water Mixtures at 298°K

The enthalpies (consequently entropies) of ionizatoins have also been determined calorimetrically at 298°K. The Inadequacies of electro static theories in explaining tbe thermodynamic parameters t.ave been stressed. The importance of Ionic salvation and structural contributions, though not well-understood, have been discussed.
