  • Department of Chemistry, Nagpur University, Nagpur Manuscript received 27 July 1972; revised 4 November 1972; accepted 6 February 1973 The complexes of indium(III) with thiosalicylic acid, salicyclic acid and anthranilic acid have been investigated by the potentiometric titration technique in 75% v/v aqueous ethanol media in the presence of 0.2 M sodium perchlorate. The proton-ligand stability constants and the stepwise formation constants of the complexes have been determined by the Calvin-Bjerrum \(p\)H-titration technique as used by Irving and Rossotti. The log K values have been computed by the alternative methods. The values of stepwise and overall changes in ∆G, ∆H and ∆S accompaying the complex formation reactions have also been evaluated at 30° by carrying out the experiments at 20°, 30° and 40°. The trend in the stability constant values of indium(III) complexes has been found to be thiosalicyclic > anthranilic > salicylic acid.
