Manuscript received 12 December 1972; revised 5 May 1973; accepted 18 July 1973 N-(2-Hydroxy-1-Naphthalidene) anthranilic acid has been employed as a reagent for the graviĀmetric determination of copper(II) The solid Cu(II) complex formed possesses 1 : 1 metal-ligand stoichiometry and is found to exist as an unsolvated dimer. The Cu(II) complex displays a magnetic moment of 1.89 BM at 303 K. A non-planar dimeric structure is proposed to explain the observed fact.
