- Department of Chemistry, Patna University, Patna-800005 Complex compounds of Co(II & III), Ni(II), Cu(II), Pd(II), Rh(III), Ir(III) and Pt(II) with 2-(2'-pyridyl) benzimidazole are reported. Structure and bonding of the complexes have been proposed on the basis of magnetic susceptibility, electrical conductance data, electronic reflectance and absorption spectra and infrared spectra measurements. The different crystal field parameters of Ni(II) complexes have also been calculated.
