- Department of Chemistry, Patna University, Patna-5 A new and convenient synthesis of anhydrobrazilic acid is described. The arylidenechroman-4-ones can be isomerised to homoisoflavones by Raney nickel in boiling xylene. Prolonged treatment with Raney nickel gives chromanone derivatives. Cinnamylidenechroman-4-ones have been prepared and structures and reactions of the related epoxides have been studied.
