- Department of Chemistry, Sardar Patel University, Vallabh Vidyanagar, 388120, Gujarat, Manuscript received 29 June 1973 ; revised 10 September 1973 ; accepted 11 December 1973 The colourless complexes formed by Iron (III) with oxalic, malonic and ethylene diamine tetra-acetic acids have been studied spectrophotometrically using sallcylaldehyde as an auxiliary ligand. Results obtained show that iron (III) forms 1:1 complexes with these carboxylic acids.
