Manuscript received 1 September 1973; accepted 21 January 1974 Copper(II) mixed chelates containing a tridentate dibasic hydrazone Schiff base and dipyridyl (or o-phenanthroline) have been prepared. These are believed to possess polymeric, distorted octahedral structures. Reactions of these chelates in donor solvents have been studied. Their electronic spectra have only one absorption band in the visible region around l6kK, and they show normal magnetic moments at room temperature.
