- Organic Chemistry Laboratories, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur-302 004 Manuscript received 16 April 1981, revised 24 August 1981, accepted 6 November 1981 New fluorine containing 5,7-disubstituted-1,2-dihydro-2-oxo-l-phenylpyrazolo[1,5-alpyrimidines have been synthesized by the condensation of 3-amino-1-phenyl-5- pyrazolone with fluorinated 1, 3-diketones in acetic acid and characterized by ir, pmr and 19F nmr spectral studies. CNS activity of some representative compounds has also been evaluated and three compounds exhibited significant antiinflammatory activity. Analgesic and anticonvulsant activities were not found at dose levels of 200 and 112 mg/kg.
