- Department of Chemistry, Visva-Bharati, Santiniketan, West Bengal Manuscript received 7 April 1979, revised 1 July 1980, accepted 7 August 1980 Kd values of phosphate, AI3+, Fe3+, Mn2+, Ca2+ and Mg2+ were studied on hydrated stannic oxide. Based on this a process of recovery of phosphate from basic slags of Indian Steel Plants is suggested with a recovery of over 95%.
