- Department of Chemistry, Panchayat College, Bargarh, Sambalpur Department of Chemistry, Ravensbaw College, Cuttack (Orissa) Manuscript received 16 November 1979, accepted 20 December 1979 Tetrathiocyanato Nickel(ll) complex was reacted with a number of nitrogen donor ligands and a sulfur donor ligand and complexes of the composition [Ni(NCS)4 L2] where L is pyridine, \(\gamma\)-picoline, quinoline, iso-quinollne, 2,6 lutidine, diethylamine, quinaldine, piperidine, [Ni(NCS)4L] where L is ethylenediamine, o-phenylenediamine and [Ni(NCS)3L] where L is oxine and piperidyldithiocarbamate were isolated. These have been characterised on the basis of analysis, conductance, magnetic susceptibility, IR and electronic spectral studies.
