- Department of Chemistry, Ramnarain Ruia College, Matunga, Bombay-400 019 Manuscript received 4 May 1982, accepted 10 December 1982 Potentimuetric studies on metal complexes of Cu2+, Ni2+, Co2+ and Mg2+ with a series of ortho derivatives of β-naphthol have been carried out. The dissociation constants of the reagents and formation constants of their metal chelates have been determined by Bjerrum's method at 30 ± 0.1° and at ionic strength of 0.1 M in 75 : 25 (v/v) dioxane-water medium.
