- Department of Chemistry, Berhampur University, Berhampur-760 007 Kinetic studies of the oxidation of nitrite by bromate at pH\(\approx\)3 and RuIII catalysed iodate at 0.01 M [HClO4 ] have been studied. The reactions are acid catalysed. Ionic strength effects and effect of added salts are found to be marginal. The rate laws for At bromate oxidation and RuIIIcatalysed iodate reaction have been discussed.
