  • Post-graduate Department of Chemistry, G. M. College, Sambalpur-768 004 Manuscript received 8 June 1983, revised 19 December 1983, accepted 16 May 1984 The solubilities of solid solutions of calcium-strontium-magnesium hydroxylapatites determined in the \(\mathcal{p}\)H range 5.0-8.0 decrease with increase in \(\mathcal{p}\)H of the dissolving medium. This is due to the dissolved phosphate ions function as proton-acceptors and being salts of weak acid undergo hydrolyses in aqueous media and at a given \(\mathcal{p}\)H also the solubility of the samples decreases with increase of mole content of strontium and magnesium in calcium hydroxylapatite.
