Lectotypus (designated here by Callmander & Fumeaux): SOUTH AFRICA: Cape, Auge s.n. [?] (G-PREL [G00818004]!). Notes. – Two specimens are present in Houttuyn’s Cape herbarium (G-PREL [G00818004, G00818005]) and one in Burman’s (G-PREL [G00818089]). The only collection that bears the name Trichomanes aethiopicum is designated here as the lectotype.
