- Regional Research Laboratory, Bhubaneswar-751 013 Manuscript received 12 July 1985, revised 5 March 1986, accepted 5 September 1986 5-Diethylaminomethyl-2-substituted-aminothiazoles and 5-dlethylaminomethyl-4- phenylimethyl-2-substituted-aminothiazoles/imidazoles were prepared by interaction of 2-substituted-aminothiazoles/imidazoles with diethylamine and p-formaldehyde. All these compounds were screened for their antifungal activity against the pathogen Carvulana lunata. Antispasmodic and antihistaminic activity of some of these compounds were studied by using isolated strips of guineapig intestine.
