- Department of Chemistry, South Gujarat University, Surat-395 007 Manuscript received 13 November 1985, accepted 7 June 1986 Densities and excess volumes for ethyl acetate-cyclohexane, ethyl acetate - benzene, ethyl acetate+ toluene, ethyl acetate+ ethylbenzene, ethyl acetate +carbon tetrachloride and ethyl acetate+chloroform at 313.15 K and for ethyl acetate+ o-xylene, ethyl acetate +ƿ-xylene, ethyl acetate +ƿ-dioxane and ethyl acetate+ tetrahydrofuran at 303.15 and 313.15 K have been reported. Positive (∂\(\nabla\)E/∂\(T\))p is observed for the systems ethyl acetate + toluene, +ethylbenzene, +o-xylene, +.ƿ-xylene, +carbon tetrachloride, +chloroform and + tetrahydrofuran, and negative for ethyl acetate + cyclohexane and +ƿ-dioxane systems.
