(Great Britain). Specimens examined: Yemen, Socotra Island: spms from Hadibo, 03-06.X.1998, A. van Harten, CCC. Remarks: Just one sample from Socotra is available for this tramp species, probably originating from Africa. Its distribution is cosmopolitan throughout the tropics and subtropics, and it is regularly found in heated greenhouses in the northern hemisphere. The most useful character to recognise the species are the blunt, erect hairs sparsely distributed all over the body surface, as well as the strongly developed frontal carinae and antennal scrobes which separate the species from T. caldarium (Roger, 1857).
