Members of Hypsophrys are distinguished from all other Heroini by the combination of a single supraneural, a strongly rounded snout profile, and a small and slightly subterminal mouth. Type species. Hypsophrys unimaculatus; type by monotypy. Included species. H. unimaculatus, H. nematopus.
