- Ptyas carinatus (Günther, 1858) Material examined. A very large specimen (ToL 2.55 m) dead on the road, examined but not preserved, vicinity of Lubuksao, Province of Sumatera Barat, elev. ca 400 m. – An adult specimen (male; ToL about 2.30 m) kept in captivity and reported as from the vicinity of Lake Maninjau. Taxonomic comments. These specimens are typical for the species as described in De Rooij (1917) and Tweedie (1983). Distribution on Sumatra. Provinces of Sumatera Utara, Sumatera Barat, and Lampung (David & Vogel, 1996) but probably more widespread. Biology. The specimen from Lubuksao was killed on a road crossing a disturbed, rocky primary forest.
