- Plekocheilus (Eurytus) pirriensis Dall, 1912 (Figs 11 G–H) Plekocheilus pirriensis Dall 1912: 2, pl. 1 figs 1–2. Type locality: Panama, Canal Zone, Pirri Range [see remarks]. Holotype USNM 214405. Material. Panama, Darién [?, see remarks], [Cerro] Pirri (USNM 214405). Remarks. In the Canal Zone no “Pirri Range” could be located; in Prov. Darién, however, there is a Rio Pirri and a Cerro Pirri. This could imply a more southern occurrence of this taxon, closer to the Colombian border. This taxon was not mentioned in Thompson (2008). It is characterized by the obese body whorl, very flat early whorls, the hardly impressed suture, the wide, oval aperture and the color pattern with alternating reddish-brown and yellowish zigzag streaks on the globose last whorl. Although it seems closely allied to P. coloratus, we tentatively regard it as a distinct species.
