A survey of the literature bas revealed that mixed ligand complexes of NiII, CuII and ZnII with ODAA as primary ligand, and maleic acid (MALEA), malonic acid (MALNA) and phthalic acid (PHA) as secondary ligands have not been studied so far. In view of the above, it was considered of interest to determine the formation constants of binary and ternary complexes of Ni11, cuu and znu ions with the above ligands.
