- Celaenorrhinus maculosus (Felder & Felder, 1867) Figs. 1–4, 28– 34 Pterygospidea maculosa Felder & Felder, 1867: 528, pl. 73, fig. 7 (Type locality: Shanghai). Celaenorrhinus maculosa: Watson, 1893: 49; Leech, 1893: 569, pl. 39, fig. 2. Celaenorrhinus maculosa maculosa: Evans, 1949: 93. Celaenorrhinus maculosus maculosus: Tong (ed.), 1993: 66, pl. 58, figs. 635–636; Chou, 1994: 703; Huang (ed.), 2001: 133. Diagnosis. Forewing length 22–25 mm. Wings brown. Forewing upperside with inner margin of subapical spots in R 3 –R 5 almost in line; spot in space M 3 smaller than spots in M 1, M 2 and CuA 1; spots in cell and space CuA 1 separated apart; two spots in CuA 2 separated, lower spot larger; forewing underside with basal yellow striping well developed. Hindwing upperside with the spot in space Rs large and distinct. Male genitalia (Figs. 28–33). Gnathos densely covered with spines and truncated end; valva nearly rectangular with dorso-distal part small and V-shaped; aedeagus robust, slightly longer than valva, with a curved cornuti, suprazonal sheath longer than subzonal sheath; juxta quadrifurcated with lateral branches shorter than half central branches, and with spherical mid-basal process. Female genitalia (Fig. 34). Papillae anales triangular, covered with hairs; posterior apophyses slender, longer than papillae; posterior lamella broad, weakly sclerotized, with almost rounded or rectangular distal projection; ductus bursae screlotized with middle part narrow and distal part expanded; bursa copulatrix membranous, elongate. Materials examined. 1 ♂, Heishiding Nature Reserve, Guangdong, 14 -V- 1997, WANG Min; 2 ♂, Nanling National Nature Reserve, Guangdong, 22 -VI- 2003, 20-V- 1997, WANG Min; 1 ♂, Chebaling National Nature Reserve, Guangdong, 14 -VIII- 1989, WANG Min; 1 ♀, Yaan, Sichuan, FAN Xiao-Ling, 7 -VII- 2003; 1 ♀, Dashahe, Guizhou, 14 -VIII- 2011, XU Hai-Ming. 1 ♀, Nanling National Nature Reserve, Guangdong, 29 -VI- 2012, DENG Xiao-Hua, XU Hai-Ming; 1 ♂ Qingliangfeng National Nature Reserve, Zhejiang, 6 -VIII- 2012, XU Hai-Ming. Distribution (Fig. 68). China (Sichuan, Henan, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Hubei, Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangdong), Laos, Vietnam. Remarks. The species, described by Felder & Felder (1867) from Shanghai, is widely distributed, and there are some geographic differences within China (Devyatkin, 2000). We compared the specimens from different localities. Wing markings and male genitalia are identical but the forewing length shows a slight difference. Specimens from South West China (female, n= 2, 22–23 mm) and South China (male, n= 4, 22–24 mm and female, n= 1, 22mm) are smaller than that from East China (Zhejiang) near the type locality (male, n= 1, 25 mm).
