  • The alexanderi group This group of species is characterized by wing with section R 4 –R 5 longer than twice length of section R 5 –M 1, and second palpal segment inserted dorsally on first, forming an angle. Hypandrium with posterior margin rounded, slightly narrowed medially; cercus same length or longer than gonocoxite; spermathecae bottle shaped with a rounded base and a narrow and elongated apex. All species of this group were described in the genus Lastauroides, which was synonymized with Neodiogmites by Artigas & Papavero (1988). During this review we found new characters that, in addition those proposed by Carrera (1949), allow us to separate these species in a group inside Neodiogmites.
