- The melanogaster group Species in this group are characterized by the following set of characters: second segment of palpus inserted on apex of first segment, length of postpedicel less than twice length of scape and pedicel combined, palpus segmentation visible and wing with section R 4 –R 5 less than twice section R 5 –M 1. Hypandrium with posterior margin narrowed and elongated medially, cercus shorter than gonocoxite, spermathecae fusiform with semispherical apex. Four species are included: N. carrerai; N. melanogaster; N. tenebrosus and N. carolindae sp. nov.
